December 30 2021 – COVID-19

We are asking for your patience, kindness, and understanding.

At Metro we strive to provide the most reliable service in our industry, but along with labor shortages, we are now dealing with the most recent outbreak of Covid-19.  We have asked employees who have tested positive or have developed symptoms to quarantine so that we can keep the rest of our crew safe and healthy.

Unfortunately, this will most likely cause disruptions in service while Covid runs its course through our small company.  We are trying our best to make sure we service everyone’s trash at least once weekly as we run with a limited crew of drivers and helpers.  We apologize in advance.  We understand it can be frustrating.

The universal challenges brought forth by the pandemic (driver shortages, staffing challenges, supply chain shortages, and safety requirements) have decreased our resources and impacted our industry dramatically in many of the same ways as other businesses in other industries.

Please, also remember, that the person you are speaking to or see on route is working hard on your behalf and trying their best.  Please try not to take out your frustrations with the staff over the phone or in person.

We will send “Service Disruption” text notifications to customers whose trash or recycle service will be affected until we can get through this.  Again, thank you for your patience.  We just want to get through this with all our employees getting better and returning to work.
